Things are looking good!

Five days have passed since I sowed the seeds in my indoor herb garden, and things are already looking great. If you follow me on instagram, you’ll have been seeing some real-time updates and photos from the herb garden. Here are a couple

Sprout Sprout

As of now, my thyme and basil have sprouted and are growing quite nicely, with a beautiful, healthy green hue. And, not one bit of mold and not one annoying bug in sight! I’m hoping over the coming days I’ll start seeing my Rosemary and Mint seeds sprouting.

Speaking of sprouts…

What is this?

What is this sprout?

This not-so-little sprout, seemingly overnight, popped up out of the soil amidst my basil sprouts. It stands far taller than my basil, and wasn’t there yesterday. It also looks nothing like the rest of the basil.

I’m not sure what this is, so for the time being, I transplanted it to an empty patch of soil away from the other herbs until I can identify it.

What is this seedling?

What do you think? Is this just a leggy basil sprout? Could it be a different herb that was accidentally sown? Is it a weed? If anybody knows, please leave a comment and let me know.

Check back in a couple days

Sunday will be 1 week since these seeds were first sown. Be sure to check back for an update. I'll be sharing some photos, and hopefully we'll see some other herb sprouts!
